PLEASE click through to see what these manly men have to say in reaction to weather stripping getting indented.
Why are only some of the names blurred? The people who aren’t human sewage have the luxury of privacy.

I think most Facebook car groups are like this. I was part of some Saab ones a few years ago and just had to leave.

Most car people in general are like this. It’s one of the reasons I don’t hang out with car guys or go to meets. Only car events I go to are town approved cruise nights, the Atlantic City auto auction, and the NYIAS

So a piece of window trim has to be less than $150, right? Even at $200 would a small scratch from the dog make you replace it?
People are dumb.

“Shoot the dog” clearly just a dumb Internet troll “joke”...
But seriously shit happens to cars if you use them you just have to deal with it and move on. And like dude said. ..it's a mustang.

Apparently they are $190

Oh I've known that for a long while. It's whh I choose not to associate with them other than on here.

This is sadly my truth as well. I can’t stand Car People.

Yeah but at least you assholes are mostly anonymous.

They're like, the worst people in the world. I am actually embarrassed to be a car enthusiast these days.

Just remember that any stupid asshole can buy a nice car. If anything, the hobby attracts stupid assholes.

Wow, can’t wait to see his reaction when he slams into into a curb/tree/lightpole while leaving the next “meet”.

Every human is and wants to be an asshole. It’s just that most of us know there are consequences to being an asshole 24/7. Well, except us bimmer drivers.
XD

Or, you know, I’m 25 and very lucky to have a new car. And a pretty nice one at that. This tiny scratch happened and it upset me, any ideas on how to fix it?

$181.33. Plus tax. $120.89 wholesale. ;)
He should be happy they’re not chrome....

Beating a dog over this is the stupidest thing I’ve ever read. Hope he crashes his mustang into a guard rail and doesn’t make it.

Please tell me you reported him to the police for beating his dog.

Serriously. We have his name. I’m about to call his local PD if no one else has.

I’ve been in his shoes at an earlier time in my life, but you learn perspective over time. Cars become stuff, and stuff can be repaired or replaced. But come to think out it.... Dogs can too.... But I digress. It’s no reason to get violent with people or pets over car damage. It sucks, but you fix it and move on.
Case in point, my 3 year old son was outside with me while I was detailing my truck and I had left the touch up paint pen out on the opposite side of the truck, as I needed to add another coat after the last one dried on a chip. (It’s the duplicolor one with the fiberglass tipped for cleaning out the chips) I’m on the other side finishing the last bit of polish and he walks around to me with a bid smile and the paint pen in his hand and asks me if he can help daddy color his truck. So I tell him not right now buddy, and ask for the paint pen. I go back to finishing the panel, as I think I have averted a crisis. And a few minutes later I go to the other side to add more touch up and find three foot long gouges in the clear coat, oh noes! I ran though a bunch of emotions at that moment, but ended up laughing. So I called for my son and we chatted about how we don’t use the paint pens on daddy’s truck and if he wants to help he needs to ask first. I told him he gave daddy’s truck an owee, and i gave him a big hug. A little touch up clear and some wet sanding and polishing got it back to good.
What a difference a little time makes, my 10 year younger self wouldve come unglued. But it's just stuff.

I’d say it’s more a problem with 25-year-old guys than it is with Mustangs. he’d probably react the same way if the car was a Civic.
![]() 07/15/2016 at 14:15 |

This is why I don’t like having nice things.
I really hate spending the mental processes on silly things like worrying about whether my car looks good or what could happen to it.
Get out there, enjoy the drive, and every scratch and ding caused by your adventures now becomes a story you can tell to fellow gearheads.

I bet that if he were to sell the car on Craigslist, he wouldn’t say that it “needs new trim”. In fact, if that’s the worst problem with the car, I daresay he could describe it as “flawless” in the ad.

But yeah going based off the fact that I joined the FB page and some of the group chats it should be evident that IDGAF.

Not necessarily. I’m an enthusiast and I don't give a crap about this. I have trail pinstriping all over my DD and it doesn't bother me.

The belt molding is $181 and takes 5 minutes to replace. I’d love for him to bring it to my shop so i can point out to him just how poorly the vehicle is put together. My techs hate working on fords. nothing lines up properly on them. On the last 2015 mustang we worked on, the hood to fender gap was 1/4" at the back and almost touching on the front. and it was the back of the car that was wrecked.

And people bemoan getting older, I don’t get it. To me getting older means you get to have nice things and the perspective that allows you to actually enjoy them.
My (relevant) story:
A month and a half ago my wife and I bought a 1967 Imperial Crown Coupe, our dream car. My own personal dream car(s) is/are a little different, but this one is ours.
Well as luck would have it, the 3rd time we took it out after taking delivery some one hit us.
Being older, I realized that getting out of the car and screaming like a crazy person never gets you anywhere. Instead, I just handed over my insurance card, let him know I wouldn’t be pursuing a claim (a little paint swap on the chrome bumper was the only sing of damage to our car), but he was welcome to do whatever he wanted*. It was all over in about 5 minutes and we were on our way.
Sad to say that I don’t think I would have handled it so camly at 27.
*Don’t want to jinx it, but we haven’t heard a peep from him or the insurance company.
